With the creation of the Dhagpo Dedröl Ling association on January 31, 1996, a structure is in place to support the retreat center for secular practitioners, located in Marfond, a few kilometers from Dhagpo Kagyu Ling.
Lama Jigme Rinpoche and two close disciples of Lama Gendun Rinpoché, Lamas Henrik and Wally, are the founding members.
“The Place of Liberation through Bliss” fulfills a wish of Gendun Rinpoche.
“Gendun Rinpoche spoke to us about his wish to create a retreat center for secular practitioners. He asked us to carry out tsok accumulation practices for this to go well,” confides Lama Henrik in an interview with Tendrel magazine (no. 42, December 1996). Then Rinpoche accepted the donation of a 30-hectare property with a farmhouse from Herbert Giller. Rinpoche also indicated that the Center should not be separated from Khagpo Kagyu Ling nor Dhagpo Kundreul Ling.
The site is intended for secular practitioners with a deep commitment to the Dharma. At the beginning, three traditional three-year retreats welcomed between six and ten people.
Then residents were asked to alternate periods of retreat with several months of activity at the Center, with the option also of coming for shorter periods to carry out the preliminary practices.
“Only the realization of practice guarantees the development of a place where wisdom and compassion will be the guides of each person’s spiritual fulfillment,”
