DESCRIPTION:The Stages of Meditation – Third Session\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				At the request of the Tibetan king Mutig Tsenpo\, son of King Trisong Detsen\, the great 8th-century Indian pandita Kamalashila composed The Stages of Meditation (Bhavanakrama). The first of the three parts describes in detail the stages of familiarization with mental calm\, then higher insight\, and finally the paths and grounds. All later writings on meditation composed by Tibetan masters are based on this text. This year\, Khenpo Chödrak Tenphel Rinpoche continues his detailed explanation of this text\, enabling each of us to deepen our understanding of Buddhist meditation. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					\n					\n						\n						Khenpo Chödrak Tenphel Rinpoche. Born in 1950 in the Kham province of Eastern Tibet\, he began his studies at the age of nine at Rumtek Monastery in Sikkim\, India with the 16th Karmapa. At the end of the traditional twelve-year cycle of philosophical studies\, the Karmapa conferred on him the title of Khenpo (scholar). Khenpo Chödrak then studied the Buddhist tantras for six years and later became director of the Nalanda Institute for Higher Tibetan Studies at Rumtek Monastery as well as KIBI (Karmapa International Buddhist Institute) in Delhi. He is currently one of the principal teachers of Thaye Dorje\, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa. \n					\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Course Organisation\nThe course takes place over three weeks: \n\nTuesday\, July 7–Friday\, July 10;\nMonday\, July 13–Friday\, July 17;\nMonday\, July 20–Friday\, July 24.(July 11\, 12\, 18\, and 19 are days off.)\n\nIt is possible to attend only one week of the course.Complementary Activities to the Morning Teaching: \n\nA group study session;\nPractice sessions.\n\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Information\n\nCourse begins: Tuesday\, July 7 at 10:30 am\nThough open to all\, this teaching requires some familiarity with Buddhist philosophical notions.\nThis teaching is given in Tibetan and translated into English and French.If you wish to follow this course in another language (German or Spanish)\, please fill out this form before Tuesday\, June 23.\n\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Contribution : 30 €/day
