SUMMARY:Detailed Differentiation between the Three Disciplines Part 2
DESCRIPTION:In this work\, Sakya Pandita Künga Gyaltsen (1182–1251)\, one of the founding fathers of the Sakya lineage and an eminent teacher respected by all of the traditions of Tibetan Buddhism presents the three disciplines (dom sum) that support Buddhist practice: the disciplines of individual liberation\, of a bodhisattva\, and of the vajrayana. This text explains the precepts of each as well as the apparent contradictions between their different levels. Knowledge of the diverse disciplines associated with Buddhist practice is a prerequisite for any person who seriously undertakes the Buddhist path.  \nLama Jampa\, with his rich heritage from both the Sakya and Kagyü lineages\, will explain this text and clarify the divergent views concerning certain points. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Lama Jampa Thaye is a scholar and meditation master in the Sakya and Karma Kagyü traditions. A British citizen born in 1952\, he has received teachings and empowerments from a great number of masters\, in particular Karma Thinley Rinpoche\, whose regent he became in 1988. He has taught at Manchester University\, where he received a doctorate for his work on Tibetan religious history. Today\, he teaches at KIBI in Delhi (Karmapa International Buddhist Institute) and around the world. He is the author of numerous works. Lama Jampa Thaye is appreciated for his knowledge of traditional texts and his ability to give commentary that is accessible for people in the West. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Important\n• While open to all\, this teaching requires some familiarization with Buddhist philosophical ideas.• Translations: This teaching is given in English and translated into French. If you wish to listen to this course in another language (German or Spanish)\, please complete this form prior to July 20th. \n \n \n \n \n \n Contribution : 25/day\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Télécharger le programme du stage en PDF

SUMMARY:Gampopa Sönam Rinchen\, Dhagpo Lhaje\, Monk and Yogi
DESCRIPTION:Gampopa is a central figure in Tibetan Buddhism. He is the father of the Dhagpo Kagyu lineage and the teacher of Düsum Khyenpa\, the first Karmapa. Gampopa is particularly known for his teaching that combines the Kadam and Mahamudra traditions\, giving the lineage its unique character. \nWith his dual background as a practitioner and scholar\, His Eminence Trungram Gyatrül Rinpoche offers an overview of Gampopa and the distinctive nature of his teachings. \nIn this year celebrating fifty years of Dhagpo’s development and the Karmapa’s activity in the West\, Gyatrül Rinpoche\, at the invitation of Lama Jigme Rinpoche\, honors us by sharing the fruit of his knowledge rooted in practice. It is a new opportunity to discover our lineage\, draw inspiration from what has been accomplished\, and pay tribute to the masters who made it possible. \nHis Eminence Trungram Gyatrül Rinpoche will confer the Milarepa empowerment. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n His Eminence Trungram Gyatrül Rinpoche is the fourth Trungram Gyalwa Tulku of the Karma Kagyu lineage. He was recognized by Rangjung Rigpe Dorje\, the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa. \nHe began long studies at Rumtek at a young age and received empowerments and teachings from all the traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. His training in meditative practice was guided by the accomplished practitioner Khenchen Trinley Paljor Rinpoche\, with whom he spent nearly his entire life until the latter’s passing. He then acquired advanced university training in Taiwan and the United States\, where he received his doctorate in 2004 at Harvard with a thesis on Gampopa. He is fluent in Tibetan\, English\, Nepalese\, Sherpa and Chinese and possesses solid knowledge of Sanskrit\, Hindi and French. \nHis activity unfolds throughout the world through teachings\, the creation of centers for Buddhist study\, humanitarian associations (Nepal\, 2015)\, a nonreligious center for peace in Lumbini\, educational initiatives and more. Through these various activities\, Gyatrul Rinpoche promotes wisdom and compassion with a nonsectarian mindset\, allying the preservation and modernisation of traditions for a 21st century Buddhism. \nRead his full biography. \n  \n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Informations\n\nCourse Begins: Saturday\, August 9 at 10:30 am\nHis Eminence Trungram Gyatrül Rinpoche will confer the Milarepa empowerment.\nTranslations: This teaching is given in English and translated into French. SUMMARY:His Eminence the 4th Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche: The Torch of Certainty - Third and Fourth Parts
DESCRIPTION:Each of us has obtained a human existence. Its purpose is to enter the doorway of the Dharma\, and for this it is necessary for our minds to turn toward the Dharma. In order for our minds to turn toward the Dharma\, it is necessary to know the qualities of the three jewels and to develop convinced trust in them. This trust will not appear so long as we do not keep death and impermanence in mind. This is why we must begin by familiarizing ourselves with the impermanent nature of all things. The reminder of impermanence is born from understanding that it is difficult to find a human existence endowed with freedoms and wealths. The four common preliminary practices are the roots of practice. \nTranslation of the preface of The Torch of Certainty by His Eminence the First Jamgon Kongtrul.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n From Thursday 21 to Saturday 23 August at Dhagpo Kagyu LingFrom Sunday 24 to Tuesday 26 August at Dhagpo Kundreul Ling \n \n \n \n \n \n During these few days\, His Eminence the Fourth Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche continues to explain the work composed by his predecessor\, Lodrö Thaye\, His Eminence the First Jamgon Kongtrul. \nThe Torch of Certainty is an essential commentary of the Kagyu lineage that presents the foundation practices of mahamudra: the common ones (precious human existence\, impermanence\, actions—causes and effects—and the defective nature of the cycle of existence) and the uncommon ones (refuge and the development of enlightened mind\, the practice of Vajrasattva\, the mandala offering and the guru yoga). These practices enable the mind to turn away from samsara and prepare for the practice of Vajrayana. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n THE 4th JAMGON KONGTRUL RINPOCHE \nEarly Life and RecognitionBirth and LineageThe 4th Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche\, born on December 17\, 1995\, in Nepal\, is the son of the 2nd Beru Khyentse Rinpoche\, a revered master and lineage holder of the Karma Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. Born as foretold\, his arrival was prophesied by the late Chobgye Trichen at the Great Manjushri’s Temple. \nRecognition and Naming CeremonyIn 1996\, the young Jamgon Rinpoche met the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje\, who bestowed upon him the name Karma Mingyur Dragpa Senge Thinle Kunkhyab Pal Sangpo\, confirming his recognition. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The 14th Dalai Lama conducted the hair-cutting ceremony a year later. Under the guidance of Beru Khyentse Rinpoche\, the 14th Dalai Lama reaffirmed Jamgon Kongtrul as the reincarnation in 2000. \nEducationRinpoche’s early education included the Tibetan language and foundational practices of the Karma Kamtsang lineage.During his teenage years\, he studied at the Sakya Institute\, known for its rigorous discipline and comprehensive curriculum.Rinpoche received the three sets of complete vows: self-liberation\, Mahayana and Vajrayana vows.He delved into the study of significant Buddhist philosophies\, achieving notable results in Madhyamika and Bodhicaryavatara.Rinpoche received transmissions and empowerments from eminent lineage masters\, including the Chenrezig initiation from Gyalwa Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje\, Hevajra from His Holiness Kyabgon Gongma Trichen Rinpoche\, and many other transmissions from different lineages. \nThree-Year Retreat and Current ActivitiesIn the period from 2018 to 2022\, Rinpoche completed a traditional three-year retreat in Pharping. As a lineage holder\, he now divides his time between personal retreat and teaching activities. In 2017\, Rinpoche embarked on his first European tour\, bestowing teachings and empowerments upon thousands of students in various European countries\, such as France\, Germany\, Hungary and Poland. \nEuropean Tour and Global OutreachTogether with his father\, Beru Khyentse Rinpoche\, they lead the KhyenKong (Khyentse-Kongtrul) centers in Singapore\, Budapest (Hungary) and Warsaw (Poland). Rinpoche has also expanded his activities online\, offering more opportunities for students worldwide to attend teachings and receive transmissions from this highly realized master. \nSource of the biography:  https://jamgon-kongtrul.org/PRESENTATION/ \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Information\nThese teachings follow on from the explanations given by Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche at Dhagpo Kundreul Ling and Dhagpo Kagyu Ling\, which began in 2024. \n \n \n \n \n \n Important information\n \n \n \n \n \n Important\n Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche will confer the empowerment of Dorje Sempa according to the tradition of Marpa\, the morning of August 23 at Dhagpo Kagyu Ling and of Gampopa on August 24 at Dhagpo Kundreul Ling. \n  \n \n \n \n \n \n Registrations\n This event is limited to 600 participants. \nIt is indispensable to register ahead in order to reserve your place for the teachings as well as meals if you plan to eat on site. \nRegistrations\, here. \n \n \n \n \n \n Traslation\n This teaching is given in English and translated into French. SUMMARY:The Sutra of Aspirations for Excellent Conduct Session 3
DESCRIPTION:Thaye Dorje\, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa explains the importance of the Five Royal Sutras that make up the paths of practice. Among them\, the Sutra of Aspirations for Excellent Conduct\, also known as Samantabadhra’s Wishing Prayer\, represents the path of aspiration. The bodhisattva Samantabhadra’s wishing prayers are a model for all to follow. They are recited regularly by practitioners of all traditions and are a path that\, as Karmapa says\, “is a way of consciously dreaming.” \nAfter having clarified the meaning of the Heart Sutra\, which presents the path of view\, Trinlay Rinpoche will begin the detailed explanation of the second of the Five Royal Sutras. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Trinlay Rinpoche\, born in 1975\, was recognized as a tülku—manifestation of a Buddhist master—by the 16th Karmapa (1923–1981 C.E.).
