SUMMARY:Commemoration of Lama Gendun Rinpoche’s Parinirvana
DESCRIPTION:When the 16th Karmapa sent Lama Gendun Rinpoche to France\, he told him\, \n\nI know that you are a lama who has brought your practice to completion. The time has come for you to benefit others.. \n\nThus\, for more than twenty years\, throughout France and Europe\, this accomplished monk and yogi made the Buddha’s teachings accessible to anyone wishing to practice them. The purity of his ethics\, the depth of his meditation\, and the precision of his discernment have made him a source of inspiration for countless practitioners\, Buddhist and non-Buddhist alike\, and continue to do so today. Lama Gendun Rinpoche passed away on October 31\, 1997. \nWe commemorate his parinirvana with a day dedicated to the accumulation of Chenrezik mantras and the practice of Milarepa’s feast offering. \nFor further information\, please contact reception or subscribe to our newsletter at dhagpo.org.
