SUMMARY:Special Visit by His Eminence Trungram Gyatrul Rinpoche
DESCRIPTION:His Eminence Trungram Gyatrul Rinpoche is honoring us with his presence this summer at the Dhagpo Kagyu Ling Institute. Lama Jigme Rinpoche and the community are delighted to welcome him once again.Last year\, his teaching on Gampopa deeply moved practitioners in attendance. \nWe will therefore have the pleasure of welcoming him from 13 to 16 August 2026\, on the dates originally scheduled for the Clarity and Compassion course. \nThe detailed program will be announced shortly. \n  \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					\n					\n						\n						His Eminence Trungram Gyatrül Rinpoche is the fourth Trungram Gyalwa Tulku of the Karma Kagyu lineage. He was recognized by Rangjung Rigpe Dorje\, the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa. \nHe began long studies at Rumtek at a young age and received empowerments and teachings from all the traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. His training in meditative practice was guided by the accomplished practitioner Khenchen Trinley Paljor Rinpoche\, with whom he spent nearly his entire life until the latter’s passing. He acquired advanced university training in Taiwan and the United States\, where he received his doctorate in 2004 at Harvard with a thesis on Gampopa. He is fluent in Tibetan\, English\, Nepalese\, Sherpa and Chinese and possesses solid knowledge of Sanskrit\, Hindi and French. \nHis activity unfolds throughout the world through teachings\, the creation of centers for Buddhist study\, humanitarian associations (Nepal\, 2015)\, a nonreligious center for peace in Lumbini\, educational initiatives and more. DESCRIPTION:Thaye Dorje\, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa\, explained the importance of the Five Royal Sutras that constitute paths of practice. Among them\, the Sutra of Aspirations for Excellent Conduct\, also known as Samantabhadra’s Wishing Prayer\, represents the path of aspiration. The bodhisattva Samantabhadra’s prayers are a model for all. \nRecited regularly by practitioners of all traditions\, they form a path that\, as the Karmapa says\, “is a way of consciously dreaming.” After clarifying the meaning of the Heart Sutra\, which presents the path of view\, Thinley Rinpoche continues the detailed explanation of the second of the Five Royal Sutras. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					\n					\n						\n						Thinley Rinpoche\, born in 1975\, was recognized as a tülku—manifestation of a Buddhist master—by the 16th Karmapa (1924–1981). He combines a Western academic education with in-depth Buddhist training under the guidance of great masters such as the 14th Shamarpa. His dual culture\, his mastery of three languages (English\, French\, and Tibetan)\, and his ability to communicate the depth of Buddhist thought in an accessible way make him an exceptional teacher.\n					\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Information\n• Translation: this teaching is given in French.
