Lama Jigme Rinpoche clarifies the role of Dhagpo Kagyu Ling’s Institute and the purpose of these Residences.
The 16th Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje indicated the reference texts that are necessary to learn, contemplate, and meditate upon. The 14th Shamarpa, Mipham Chökyi Lodrö, systematized them into a curriculum of learning and practice accessible to all. Lama Jigme Rinpoche implements this curriculum, step by step guiding practitioners who wish to deepen their practice.
The Institute’s Residences offer the opportunity to immerse oneself in the three aspects of Dharma practice within a community environment, namely:
- learning the Dharma by receiving a precise education from qualified teachers and participating in an ongoing study process thanks to the daily on-site curriculum;
- meditation by joining daily group practice and cultivating a personal meditative practice;
- daily application by taking part in the center’s activity and making the Dharma accessible to as many people as possible, a way to assess one’s understanding of study and meditative practice.
Anyone wishing to join the Institute’s curriculum by applying these three aspects of practice may come to share this way of life over the short, medium or long term.
Through these worksite dairies, we’ll keep you informed about different aspects of the project.
Today, Lama Jigme Rinpoche, representative in Europe and France of Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, and spiritual director of the Dhagpo Kagyu Ling study and meditation center, explains what the Institute’s Residences are all about.
