Tuesday, June 11th 2024 marks the tenth Parinirvana anniversary of the 14th Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche according to the Western calendar. For those who cannot be at Renchen Ulm, where Thay\u00e9 Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, will lead the commemoration pujas, you can join us at Dhagpo in person or participate in part of the program online. More information is provided below.<\/p>\n
Regarding Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche’s Parinirvana day, Karmapa has shared the following advice with his students<\/a> on several occasions:<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_testimonial quote_icon=”off” _builder_version=”4.24.3″ _module_preset=”default” border_width_all=”4px” border_width_top=”0px” border_width_right=”0px” border_width_bottom=”0px” border_color_left=”#ab0032″ global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]<\/p>\n \u201d We must utilise this day and take time to remember his life, his activity, his legacy, the contribution that has been made to the world. Just like many great beings that we know throughout history, and in our present day, the life of His Holiness Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche has been a tremendous source of inspiration for all of us.<\/em><\/p>\n We remember his ability and determination to protect and preserve the very lineage that we know. This, of course, is not just any lineage, but a lineage of compassion and wisdom: a lineage for the teachings of Lord Buddha; the teachings that have survived; the teachings that have developed for over 2500 years; and are developing as we speak. These teachings have been brought to the various regions of the world. Buddhist teachings have now reached everywhere across the globe, and are benefiting countless beings through a message of compassion and wisdom. Rinpoche taught on the practice of lojong based on the text A Concise Lojong Manual<\/a> by the 5th Shamar Rinpoche K\u00f6nchok Yenlak.
