To begin, what is the meaning of this name<\/strong> given by His Holiness the 16th Karmapa? <\/span>Karma<\/span><\/i> indicates that the center is under the spiritual authority<\/strong> of the Gyalwa Karmapa. <\/span>Teksum<\/span><\/i> means <\/span>three (sum) vehicles (tek)<\/span><\/i>, in reference to the three spiritual paths, which indicates that practice is always connected to the Buddha\u2019s teaching. <\/span>Tch\u00f6ling<\/span><\/i> means <\/span>place of the Dharma.<\/span><\/i>
\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column_inner][\/et_pb_row_inner][et_pb_row_inner _builder_version=”4.27.3″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_column_inner saved_specialty_column_type=”3_4″ _builder_version=”4.27.3″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]The 16th Gyalwa Karmapa<\/strong> expressed the wish that centers connected to Dhagpo be created in different cities in France in order to make it easier to discover the Buddha\u2019s teaching.<\/span>
\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_testimonial author=”Lama Jigme Rinpoche” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”572720b5-72ac-4a65-9e3f-d9811ed4046d” body_line_height=”1.6em” border_color_all=”gcid-9b5f26ad-ce0a-4e53-af90-9971f6694090″ border_color_bottom=”gcid-9b5f26ad-ce0a-4e53-af90-9971f6694090″ locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{%22gcid-9b5f26ad-ce0a-4e53-af90-9971f6694090%22:%91%22quote_icon_color%22,%22border_color_bottom%22,%22border_color_all%22%93}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]\u201cPeople came to Dhagpo Kagyu Ling, received the teachings, studied the Dharma, practiced it, but they have to return home due to their obligations,\u201d explains Lama Jigme Rinpoche. \u201cTherefore, this is the reason why the KTTs were created, in order to give people who came to Dhagpo the opportunity to connect, to gather afterward where they lived. This was the primary purpose of the KTTs: bringing people together, offering access to the Dharma, and then connecting with Dhagpo.\u201d<\/span>
\n[\/et_pb_testimonial][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]Starting in 1980, Gendun Rinpoche<\/strong> and Lama Jigme Rinpoche travelled across France and beyond to support disciples\u2019 interest in creating these urban centers. Shamar Rinpoche<\/strong> and Jigme Rinpoche<\/strong> visited Biarritz in 1980. Jigme Rinpoche returned in 1981 with Gendun Rinpoche and gave a seminar in Bayonne.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eug\u00e8ne Deherme, who would become the first president of the Biarritz KTT, had attended the Black Crown Ceremony carried out by the 16th Karmapa at Dhagpo Kagyu Ling in 1977<\/strong> and took refuge with His Holiness. This intense moment stayed with him.<\/span><\/p>\n

As stated in the first issue of <\/span>Tendrel<\/span><\/i> magazine, the first KTT that was formed was that of P\u00e9rigueux, though it had no legal structure. The first legal structure is recorded by the Bayonne subprefecture as an association under France\u2019s 1901 law, and was published with an entry in <\/span>Journal Officiel<\/span><\/i> on March 1, 1982.<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting in April 1982<\/strong>, after its creation, a group of some forty people gathered for three days of teaching given by Gendun Rinpoche. In addition to teachings and meditation practices, the KTT also organized a Tibetan Week in April of 1986 to nurture connection and openness with the local community. The event included an exhibition of Tibetan Art and several talks at the Basque Museum of Bayonne. The KTT also contributed support to Anila Rinchen<\/strong> so that she could take part in the first three-year-three-month-three-day retreat in 1984.<\/span><\/p>\n

The creation of the Biarritz KTT was the beginning of a new dynamic. The Nantes KTT was created in 1982, followed by Pau, Bordeaux, and La Rochelle in 1983, and Clermont Ferrand, Toulon, Poitiers, Perpignan as well as Bilbao in 1984.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, fifty-four urban centers and twenty Dharma groups<\/strong> exist in France and several other European countries (Belgium, Spain, Italy, and more). Each is dedicated to gathering people for teachings, practice, and study. Over time these urban centers evolve under the spiritual guidance of Jigme Rinpoche. The first KTT has become Dhagpo Pays Basque, located in Anglet. KTTs located in the same region support each other, in order to exchange and  access teachings from <\/span>khenpos<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>acharyas<\/span><\/i> coming from India. \u201cIt\u2019s a work in progress so that we can acquire better education in the Dharma, and for this to be able to support meditation practice,\u201d explains Jigme Rinpoche.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shamar Rinpoche\u2019s words<\/strong> in issue number eleven of <\/span>Tendrel <\/span><\/i>Magazine  from 1987 resonate just as much today as they did then, <\/span>

Donner l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 de se relier<\/strong> au Dharma en ville, \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 de son domicile, telle est la vocation des centres <\/span>Karma Teksoum Tcheuling<\/span><\/i> (KTT), dont le premier voit le jour \u00e0 Biarritz en mars 1982.<\/span><\/p>

Quel est tout d\u2019abord le sens de ce nom<\/strong> donn\u00e9 par Sa Saintet\u00e9 le XVI<\/span>e<\/span><\/sup> Karmapa\u00a0?\u00a0: <\/span>karma<\/span><\/i> indique que le centre est plac\u00e9 sous l\u2019autorit\u00e9 spirituelle<\/strong> du Gyalwa Karmapa\u00a0; pour <\/span>teksoum, tek<\/span><\/i>\u00a0 signifie v\u00e9hicules et <\/span>soum <\/span><\/i>signifie trois, en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence aux trois chemins spirituels, indiquant que la pratique est toujours reli\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019enseignement du Bouddha\u00a0; <\/span>tcheuling<\/span><\/i> signifie <\/span>lieu du Dharma<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>

Afin de faciliter la rencontre avec l\u2019enseignement du Bouddha, le XVI<\/strong><\/span>e<\/sup><\/strong> Gyalwa Karmapa<\/strong> avait souhait\u00e9 la cr\u00e9ation de centres affili\u00e9s \u00e0 Dhagpo dans diff\u00e9rentes villes de France.<\/span><\/p>

\u00ab\u00a0Des personnes venaient \u00e0 Dhagpo Kagyu Ling, recevaient des enseignements, \u00e9tudiaient le Dharma, le pratiquaient, mais devaient ensuite retourner chez elles du fait de leurs obligations. C\u2019est donc la raison pour laquelle les KTT ont \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9s. Il s\u2019agissait de donner \u00e0 ces personnes l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 de se relier, de se retrouver dans leur lieu de r\u00e9sidence. Cela, c\u2019\u00e9tait le but principal des KTT\u00a0: relier les personnes entre elles, offrir un acc\u00e8s au Dharma et les connecter ensuite \u00e0 Dhagpo.\u00a0\u00bb<\/span><\/p>

\u00c0 partir de 1980<\/strong>, Guendune Rinpoch\u00e9<\/strong> et lama Jigm\u00e9 Rinpoch\u00e9 sillonnent les villes de l\u2019Hexagone et au-del\u00e0, afin de soutenir l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat des disciples pour la cr\u00e9ation de tels centres urbains. Shamar Rinpoch\u00e9 <\/strong>et Jigm\u00e9 Rinpoch\u00e9<\/strong> se rendent \u00e0 Biarritz en 1980. Ce dernier y revient en 1981 avec Guendune Rinpoch\u00e9 et donne alors une conf\u00e9rence \u00e0 Bayonne.<\/span><\/p>

En 1977<\/strong>, celui qui allait devenir le premier pr\u00e9sident du KTT de Biarritz, Eug\u00e8ne Deherme, avait assist\u00e9 \u00e0 la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de la coiffe noire accomplie par le XVI<\/span>e<\/span><\/sup> Karmapa \u00e0 Dhagpo Kagyu Ling et avait pris refuge avec Sa Saintet\u00e9. Ce moment intense marquera sa m\u00e9moire.<\/span><\/p>

Comme le rapporte le n\u00b01 de la revue <\/span>Tendrel<\/span><\/i>, le premier KTT \u00e0 se constituer \u00e9tait celui de P\u00e9rigueux, mais sans structure juridique. La premi\u00e8re structure juridique est enregistr\u00e9e \u00e0 la sous-pr\u00e9fecture de Bayonne comme association r\u00e9gie par la loi 1901, et parait au <\/span>Journal Officiel <\/span><\/i>le 1<\/span>er <\/span><\/sup>mars 1982.<\/span><\/p>

En avril 1982<\/strong>, soit un mois apr\u00e8s sa cr\u00e9ation, une quarantaine de personnes se r\u00e9unissent pour trois jours d\u2019enseignements avec Guendune Rinpoch\u00e9. Le KTT apporte \u00e9galement son soutien \u00e0 Anila Rinchen<\/strong> pour l\u2019accomplissement de la premi\u00e8re retraite<\/strong> de trois ans, trois mois et trois jours, en 1984. La mise en place des enseignements et des pratiques m\u00e9ditatives, le KTT organise en avril 1986 une semaine tib\u00e9taine<\/strong> avec une exposition sur l\u2019art tib\u00e9tain et plusieurs conf\u00e9rences au Mus\u00e9e Basque de Bayonne, afin de tisser des liens d\u2019ouverture avec la communaut\u00e9 locale.<\/span><\/p>

Une dynamique \u00e9tait lanc\u00e9e. Le KTT de Nantes est cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 1982, suivi par Pau, Bordeaux et La Rochelle en 1983, Clermont-Ferrand, Toulon, Poitiers et Perpignan, ainsi que Bilbao en 1984.<\/span><\/p>

Aujourd\u2019hui, 54 centres urbains et 20 groupes du Dharma<\/strong> sont implant\u00e9s<\/strong> en France et dans plusieurs pays europ\u00e9ens (Belgique, Espagne, Italie\u2026), chacun ayant pour vocation de rassembler des personnes autour des enseignements, de la pratique et de l\u2019\u00e9tude. Au fil du temps, ces centres urbains \u00e9voluent, sous la guidance spirituelle de Jigm\u00e9 Rinpoch\u00e9.<\/strong> Le premier KTT devient Dhagpo Pays Basque, il est situ\u00e9 \u00e0 Anglet. Les KTT de la m\u00eame r\u00e9gion se f\u00e9d\u00e8rent, afin de pouvoir \u00e9changer et acc\u00e9der \u00e0 l\u2019enseignement de <\/span>khenpos<\/span><\/i> et d\u2019<\/span>acharyas<\/span><\/i> venus d\u2019Inde. Jigm\u00e9 Rinpoch\u00e9 pr\u00e9cise\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0C\u2019est un travail en cours pour que l\u2019on acqui\u00e8re une meilleure \u00e9ducation dans le Dharma et pour que ceci puisse soutenir la pratique m\u00e9ditative.\u00a0\u00bb<\/span><\/p>

Il est important que les membres de ces centres se sentent reli\u00e9s les uns aux autres, comme \u00e9tant autant de relais de l\u2019activit\u00e9 de Sa Saintet\u00e9 le Karmapa. La t\u00e2che des KTT est essentielle pour permettre l\u2019accomplissement du souhait de Sa Saintet\u00e9 d\u2019apporter le Dharma au plus grand nombre d\u2019\u00eatres.\u00a0\u00bb<\/span><\/p>
