Light offerings<\/strong> on the stupa of enlightenment shine in the night<\/strong> at Dhagpo Kagyu Ling as Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, steps out of his car, cradling against him his son Thugseyla, just over one month old, wrapped in a yellow blanket.<\/p>\nAccompanied by his wife Sangyumla, he is welcomed by Jigme Rinpoche, who has a beaming smile. Members of the community are also gathered. Karmapa has indeed come to introduce his son, born on August 11 to Jigme Rinpoche, his general secretary, as well as to Gendun Rinchen and members of the Dhagpo sangha.<\/p>\n
During this private visit, a reception was held at the Institute, attended by members of the community living nearby. On this occasion, Lama Jigme Rinpoche offered Thugseyla the traditional symbols<\/strong> of the enlightened body, speech, and mind in miniature size (Tib. ku, sung, tuk<\/em>).<\/p>\n The following year, in January 2019, at the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute (KIBI) in New Delhi, His Eminence Luding Khenchen Rinpoche, of the Sakya school of Tibetan Buddhism, presided over the traditional hair-cutting ceremony,<\/a> symbolizing his taking refuge in the three jewels. <\/p>\n In October 2019, it was at Dhagpo Kundreul Ling that the Gyalwa Karmapa, accompanied by Sangyumla, came to present Thugseyla<\/a> during a gathering filled with joy and gentleness in the Great Temple. The mandala offering and symbolic offerings of enlightened body, speech, and mind (ku sung tuk<\/em>) were made to Karmapa and his son.
