The year after Lama Jigme Rinpoche and Lama Gendun Rinpoche arrived in Landrevie, the Dhagpo Kagyu Ling Association, created on November 9, 1976<\/strong>, provided the first legal structure for supporting<\/strong> Tibetan monks in exile, promoting the Kagyupa school, studying and practicing the Dharma according to all schools of Buddhism, and safeguarding Tibetan philosophy, culture, and sciences, including medicine.<\/p>\n

The seat of this association<\/strong>, a non-profit under the French law of 1901, was located at the Ch\u00e2teau de Chaban. Its three founding members (Mr. Jossand, Mr. Dunoyer, and Mr. Renault) held positions at the P\u00e9rigueux Court and the region\u2019s Public Treasury, reflecting local involvement and a readiness to support the newcomers and their spiritual activities.<\/p>\n

The Dhagpo Kagyu Ling association was registered with the sub-prefecture of Sarlat-la-Can\u00e9da and published in the Official Journal<\/em> on July 6, 1977. Then in 1978, the seat was transferred to Landrevie and the association was restructured, with the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa and Lama Jigme Rinpoche as honorary president and vice-president respectively. The board of directors counted a president (Jean-Claude Tavernier) and four vice-presidents, including Bernard Lebeau, future president of Dhagpo Kagyu Ling, Georgina de Swarte, who had officially invited the 16th Karmapa to the West in 1975<\/a>, Dr. Jean-Pierre Schnetzler and Denis Andr\u00e9, a treasurer (Louis Filippi) and a secretary (Anne Berry). Bernard Benson was a founding member. The 1979 program is the first to explicitly mention the Dhagpo Kagyu Ling association.<\/p>\n

The current statutes (dating from 2010) specify the relationship with the Karme Dharma Chakra (KDC) Buddhist monastic community, which was legally recognized in January 1988<\/a>. Until that date, it was the Karma Kagyu Ling religious association, established in October 1977, that was responsible for the practice of Tibetan Buddhism, particularly the Kagyupa branch.<\/p>\n

The Karma Kagyu Lama association was dissolved with the official recognition by the French state of the Karme Dharma Chakra Congregation, the first Buddhist community to be recognized in France.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The DKL statutes specify that the association is responsible for implementing all measures enabling the study and practice of the Buddha’s teachings according to the traditions of the Kagyupa schools, as represented by the lineage holder, the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje, and taught by KDC.<\/p>\n

For forty-nine years, the Dhagpo Kagyu Ling association has been the gateway for all practitioners who come to follow the teachings. Indeed, it is essential to be a member in order to participate in activities.<\/p>\n

Renault, occupent notamment des fonctions au tribunal de P\u00e9rigueux et au tr\u00e9sor public du d\u00e9partement, ce qui t\u00e9moigne de la volont\u00e9 et de l\u2019implication locale pour soutenir les nouveaux arrivants et leurs activit\u00e9s spirituelles.\r\n\r\n\"\"L\u2019association Dhagpo Kagyu Ling est d\u00e9clar\u00e9e \u00e0 la sous-pr\u00e9fecture de Sarlat-la-Can\u00e9da, avec parution au\u00a0Journal officiel<\/em>\u00a0le 6 juillet 1977. Puis en 1978, le si\u00e8ge social est transf\u00e9r\u00e9 \u00e0 Landrevie et l\u2019association est restructur\u00e9e, avec comme pr\u00e9sident d\u2019honneur le XVIe<\/sup>\u00a0Gyalwa Karmapa et comme vice-pr\u00e9sident d\u2019honneur lama Jigm\u00e9 Rinpoch\u00e9.\r\n\r\nLe conseil d\u2019administration comprend un pr\u00e9sident en la personne de Jean-Claude Tavernier et quatre vice-pr\u00e9sidents : Bernard Lebeau, futur pr\u00e9sident de Dhagpo Kagyu Ling, Georgina de Swarte qui\u00a0avait officiellement invit\u00e9 le XVIe<\/sup>\u00a0Karmapa en Occident en 1975<\/a>, le docteur Jean-Pierre Schnetzler et Denis Andr\u00e9 ; le tr\u00e9sorier est Louis Filippi et la secr\u00e9taire Anne Berry. Bernard Benson en est un membre fondateur. Le programme de 1979 cite explicitement l\u2019association Dhagpo Kagyu Ling pour la premi\u00e8re fois.\r\n\r\nLes statuts actuels, datant de 2010, pr\u00e9cisent la relation avec la communaut\u00e9 monastique bouddhiste Karm\u00e9 Dharma Chakra (KDC),\u00a0l\u00e9galement reconnue en janvier 1988.<\/a>\u00a0Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 cette date, c\u2019\u00e9tait l\u2019association cultuelle Karma Kagyu Ling, constitu\u00e9e en octobre 1977, qui assurait l\u2019exercice du culte bouddhiste tib\u00e9tain, et en particulier celui de la branche kagyupa.\r\n\r\nAvec la\u00a0reconnaissance officielle par l\u2019\u00c9tat fran\u00e7ais<\/strong>\u00a0de la Congr\u00e9gation Karm\u00e9 Dharma Chakra,\u00a0premi\u00e8re communaut\u00e9 bouddhiste reconnue en France<\/strong>, cette association cultuelle Karma Kagyu Ling est donc dissoute.
