Having traveled from the United States at the invitation of Lama Jigme Rinpoche for the second consecutive year, Trungram Gyatrul Rinpoche<\/a> devoted his four mornings of teaching (August 13\u201316, 2026) to transmitting a teaching by Gampopa Seunam Rinchen<\/a>, founder of the Karma Kagyu lineage, which addresses the nature of mind and the specific meditative methods associated with it.<\/p>\n This year, Gyatrul Rinpoche focused on the nineteenth text<\/strong> in Gampopa\u2019s collected works, entitled The Extraordinary Nectar of the Mouth.<\/em> Building on his teaching from last year, which explored the work and unique aspects of Gampopa\u2019s often little-known teachings, he chose this year to delve into the heart of this specific path, drawing on the words arising from Gampopa\u2019s realization and recorded in writing by his students.<\/p>\n Distinguishing between the instructions from the Kadam and Kagyu traditions<\/strong> contained in the text, Gyatrul Rinpoche made accessible the methods for seeing the essence of our mind\u2014its original, unaltered state\u2014particularly through the \u201carmor of view\u201d and the \u201carmor of insight.\u201d<\/p>\n The armor of view<\/strong> is associated with our daily practice, the accumulation of merit, and an understanding of and respect for the workings of karma. The armor of insight<\/strong> relates to the mind and to taking all the experiences we encounter\u2014and particularly our conceptualizations (\u0f62\u0fa3\u0f58\u0f0b\u0f62\u0f9f\u0f7c\u0f42 namtok<\/em>)\u2014as the path. These conceptualizations are inseparable from the mind, since they are its very activity, much like the sun and its light. By becoming aware of the space between each concept that arises, it is possible to see the mind in its essence\u2014the unaltered mind\u2014as it is before any duality.<\/p>\n Gyatrul Rinpoche focused on terms that describe the mind, its functions, and its nature, providing precise and deeply valuable explanations\u2014especially in our Western context, which has a limited vocabulary to describe them. He also granted refuge to about ten people, marking their entry onto the Buddhist path.<\/p>\n Each afternoon, Lama Jigme Rinpoche<\/strong> revisited points from Gyatrul Rinpoche\u2019s teachings, explaining them in greater detail for newcomers. In particular, he emphasized the balance between Dharma study, the bodhicitta<\/em> mindset, and meditation, so that our practice may lead toward enlightenment rather than reinforcing our own tendencies.<\/p>\n On the sidelines of these four rich and intense days, the Dhagpo Kagyu Ling Association held its annual general assembly, during which information was shared regarding center attendance, program developments, the training of instructors, and the activities of urban centers in 2025.<\/p>\n On August 15, Gyatrul Rinpoche conferred the empowerment of Amitayus<\/strong>, the Buddha of Long Life, offering concise explanations of the two aspects of the ritual\u2014the purification of our afflictive obscurations and the awakening of the wisdom that is already within us. At the same time, at Europe Center in Germany, Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, was bestowing the same empowerment. That same day also marked Lama Jigme Rinpoche\u2019s birthday. En \u00e9tant attentifs \u00e0 l\u2019espace entre chaque concept qui \u00e9merge, il est possible de voir l\u2019esprit dans son essence, l\u2019esprit non alt\u00e9r\u00e9, tel qu\u2019il est avant toute dualit\u00e9.<\/p> Gyatrul Rinpoch\u00e9 s\u2019est arr\u00eat\u00e9 sur les termes qui d\u00e9crivent l\u2019esprit et ses fonctionnements ainsi que sa nature, fournissant des explications pr\u00e9cises et pr\u00e9cieuses, surtout dans notre contexte occidental dont le vocabulaire est limit\u00e9 pour les d\u00e9crire.
