Recognize that there is no lasting happiness in samsara and that only the Buddha taught methods to free oneself from suffering: such was the starting point of Nendo Rinpoche\u2019s teaching on the practice of Amitabha, given on October 10 and 11 to a packed Institute at Dhagpo Kagyu Ling.<\/p>\n
Making this practice accessible to everyone, Nendo Rinpoche emphasized the importance<\/strong> of first observing<\/strong> one\u2019s own mind and engaging<\/strong> in the practice with a vast and open mind. Even if we have little time, the practice will be beneficial for ourselves and others.<\/p>\n Amitabha, the Buddha of Infinite Ligh<\/strong>t, is associated with the Pure Land of Dewachen. Sharing his experience, Rinpoche repeatedly encouraged us to familiarize ourselves with the awakened presence of Buddha Amitabha, his retinue, and the Pure Land of Dewachen.<\/p>\n Thus, upon waking in the morning and at bedtime, he recommended that practitioners pray to<\/strong> Buddha Amitabha and make wishes<\/strong> to be reborn in his Pure Land. Through this training, our mental fabrications and our grasping of a self will lose their strength and eventually dissolve. Furthermore, we must cultivate the confidence and conviction that we can be reborn in the Pure Land of Dewachen. Rinpoche explained the various stages of the practice, drawing on the Manual for the Practice of the Land of Great Bliss according to the \u201cSky Dharma.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Rinpoche reminded us that we perform this practice\u2014which is both a source of purification and blessing\u2014for ourselves and for others, in order to free ourselves from suffering and go in the direction of enlightenment.<\/p>\n On Sunday afternoon, Nendo Rinpoche conferred the Amitabha empowerment,<\/strong> explaining the meaning of its various stages. M\u00eame si nous avons peu de temps, la pratique sera b\u00e9n\u00e9fique pour nous-m\u00eames et les autres.<\/p> Amitabha, le Bouddha de lumi\u00e8re infinie<\/strong>, est associ\u00e9 \u00e0 la terre pure de Dewachen. Partageant son exp\u00e9rience, Rinpoch\u00e9 nous a encourag\u00e9s \u00e0 maintes reprises \u00e0 nous familiariser avec la pr\u00e9sence \u00e9veill\u00e9e du Bouddha Amitabha, de son entourage et de la terre pure de Dewachen.<\/p> Ainsi, au r\u00e9veil et au coucher, il a recommand\u00e9 aux pratiquants de prier<\/strong> le Bouddha Amitabha et de formuler des souhaits<\/strong> pour rena\u00eetre dans sa terre pure. Par cet entra\u00eenement, nos fabrications mentales et notre saisie d\u2019un soi vont perdre de leur force et finir par l\u00e2cher.<\/p> Par ailleurs, il nous faut g\u00e9n\u00e9rer la confiance et la conviction que nous pouvons rena\u00eetre dans la terre pure de Dewachen. Rinpoch\u00e9 a expliqu\u00e9 les diff\u00e9rents stades de la pratique, en s\u2019appuyant sur le Manuel de la pratique de la terre de grande f\u00e9licit\u00e9 selon le \u00ab Dharma du Ciel \u00bb<\/em>.
