April 2000: A Library is Born<\/a><\/p>\n

On April 30, from 3:00 p.m., to mark this event and for this first time at Dhagpo Kagyu Ling,<\/strong> all practitioners will be invited to join a Kangyur procession.<\/strong> The Kangyur texts (the Buddha\u2019s words translated into Tibetan) are kept in their traditional format in the Library. The texts will be carried in procession from the Institute, around the Sukhavati Garden and all the Dhagpo stupas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ahead of this, between April 14 and 18 (from 10 to 10:30 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.), practitioners<\/strong> who can read Tibetan<\/strong> are invited to join reading aloud from each of the 103 volumes<\/strong> that constitute the collection, in the Library\u2019s reading room and in the Tibetan documentary holding room.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This practice, which is widespread in Asia, is an expression of respect<\/strong> towards the Buddha\u2019s words contained in these volumes, and a reminder that it is the reliable source of authentic Dharma, the supports enabling us to know what to cultivate and what to abandon, and the means to free ourselves from suffering. It is in fact the very presence of the Buddha.<\/span><\/p>\n

30 avril : Naissance d\u2019une biblioth\u00e8que<\/span><\/a><\/p>\r\n

Le 30 avril,<\/strong> \u00e0 partir de 14 h 30, pour marquer cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement et pour la premi\u00e8re fois \u00e0 Dhagpo Kagyu Ling<\/strong>, aura lieu une procession du Kangyur\u00a0<\/strong> \u00e0 laquelle tous les pratiquants qui le souhaitent sont invit\u00e9s \u00e0 prendre part. Les textes du Kangyur (les paroles du Bouddha traduites en tib\u00e9tain) sont conserv\u00e9s sous leur forme traditionnelle \u00e0 la biblioth\u00e8que. Les textes seront transport\u00e9s en procession depuis l\u2019Institut et tout autour du Jardin de Sukhavati et de tous les stoupas de Dhagpo.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Auparavant, entre le 14 et le 18 avril<\/strong> (de 10 h \u00e0 10 h 30 et de 14 h \u00e0 14 h 30), les pratiquants sachant lire le tib\u00e9tain sont invit\u00e9s \u00e0 se joindre \u00e0 la lecture \u00e0 voix haute de chacun des 103 volumes<\/strong> qui composent la collection, dans la salle de lecture de la biblioth\u00e8que et dans le fonds documentaire tib\u00e9tain.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Cette pratique, tr\u00e8s r\u00e9pandue en Asie, est une manifestation de respect envers la parole du Bouddha<\/strong> contenue dans ces volumes, et un rappel qu\u2019il s\u2019agit de la source fiable du Dharma authentique, des supports qui nous permettent notamment de savoir ce qu\u2019il s\u2019agit de cultiver et d\u2019abandonner, et de conna\u00eetre les moyens pour nous affranchir du mal-\u00eatre.
