Dear dharma friends of Dhagpo Kagyu Ling,

This year marks the fortieth anniversary of this spiritual environment. Let us celebrate this joyous occasion by remembering those who have contributes to founding this community:

First and foremost, Mr BENSON and his family, who donated the land and the farm, as well as all the donors who have been supporting us throughout the years and up to the present day. It is thanks to them that we have now been able to complete our marvellous Institute.

All the local politicians, such as Mr CABANEL, who was mayor of Montignac at the time and offered us his invaluable support, as well as to all the other mayors and locals who were and still are very helpful.

All the people living near Dhagpo, such as Mrs. BOUDI or Mr. DELBOS – all those who have witnessed the development od Dhagpo and have encouraged us through their kindness and their warm welcoming attitude.

And at last but not least, all the spiritual masters whose blessings and timeless aspirations have made Dhagpo into what it is today – a place where the authentic Buddha dharma can be shared for the benefit of beings: my predecessor, the 16th Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje, the late 14th Kunsig Shamar Rinpoche who continued to be a source of inspiration right up to his very last days, Jigme Rinpoche himself who continues his activity to this day, and the late Gendun Rinpoche – a symbol and source of timeless inspiration.

Let us remember them and rejoice, and let us appreciate what this environment can contribute in terms of cultivating compassion and wisdom for all sentient beings.

And let us practice, too, for without practice we will lose our timeless connection and togetherness.

Therefore, practice compassion fearlessly, practice wisdom with kindness.
