Amitabha, the buddha of infinite light, is associated with the land of Dewachen. Practicing his meditation allows for creating the causes for rebirth in this pure land for oneself and others. Nendo Rinpoche will begin the detailed explanation of Amitabha practice and transmit the empowerment.
Nendo Rinpoche, the sixth reincarnation of the Nendo Kulha lineage, was born in 1962. He was recognized by the 16th Karmapa and remained close to the Karmapa until he turned eighteen, when he moved to Ladakh to study and later accomplish a three-year retreat during which he practiced the six yogas of Naropa. He also received numerous other transmission, notably from Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. D
At twenty-five years old, he was enthroned as the vajra master (dorje lopon) of Rumtek Monastery in Sikkim, India. He is still the 16th Karmapa’s dorje lopon today. He is currently responsible for Shamar Rinpoche’s monks and is in charge of the Karma Kagyü lineage’s activities in Sikkim. He is also the director of an important monastery in Kham, Tibet that is home to fifty-five monks.
Nendo Rinpoche is known for the quality of his listening and his simplicity.
