Over the course of five days, from April 22 to 26, 2026, Lama Jigme Rinpoche gave students of the Chenrezig course precious teachings to deepen this meditative practice and integrate it into our daily lives. To this end, Rinpoche drew in particular on instructions from the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa and a text on the meaning of meditation by the 2nd Shamarpa, Kachoube Wangpo (1350–1405), published in View and Meditation.

He also referred to fundamental texts studied at Dhagpo, such as The Entry to the State of a Pandita by Mipham Rinpoche, the Abhidharmakosha by Vasubhandu, Revealing the Essence of Tathagata by the 3rd Karmapa Rangjung Dorje, and The Jewel Ornament of Liberation by Gampopa.

Drawing connections between these texts, Rinpoche revisited essential points of the teaching concerning the origin of suffering, disillusion with samsara, and impermanence on the one hand, and the essence of mind on the other. Hearing, studying, and reflecting on these teachings will gradually enable us to have a less distracted mind, to feel the presence of Chenrezig inseparable from our own nature, and to truly abide in the natural state of mind.

Rinpoche encouraged students to continue studying these themes and to practice the yidam regularly, as this allows us to reduce the causes of rebirth in the six realms, weaken our afflictive obscurations, and reveal the enlightened qualities—our own wisdom nature.

During this retreat, punctuated by meditative practices, the Institute’s students continued their repetition of the second chapter of the Abhidharmakosha. The teaching given by the 17th Karmapa in 2023 at Dhagpo on Chenrezig was also broadcast at the Institute, as it was last February.
