During the month of May, we had the immense joy to once again welcome Dhongtsang Shabdrung Rinpoche to Dhagpo Kagyu Ling.
Over the course of four days, he transmitted the commentary on “The Treatise Entitled Revealing the Essence of the Tathagata” written by the 3rd Karmapa Rangjung Dorje – Nyingpo Tenpa in Tibetan.
Studying this text is fundamental for following the path to enlightenment and provides an essential understanding of what we each have in common: Buddha nature. Introducing the teaching, Dhongtsang Shabdrung Rinpoche also noted that recognizing one’s own qualities and those of others could help us live more harmoniously.
Kunzik Shamar Rinpoche himself affirmed:
The main subject of this treatise is the wisdom of enlightenment, which is the fruit that we need to actualize. This fruit dwells in everyone’s mind, in our Buddha nature.
Dhongtsang Shabdrung Rinpoche gave the Institute’s students detailed explanations of Jamgon Kongtrul Lodreu Thaye’s commentary on this treatise, just as Lama Jigme Rinpoche had requested. Such study comes as a support to everyone’s practice.
