The Stages of Meditation – Third Session

At the request of the Tibetan king Mutig Tsenpo, son of King Trisong Detsen, the great 8th-century Indian pandita Kamalashila composed The Stages of Meditation (Bhavanakrama). The first of the three parts describes in detail the stages of familiarization with mental calm, then higher insight, and finally the paths and grounds. All later writings on meditation composed by Tibetan masters are based on this text. This year, Khenpo Chödrak Tenphel Rinpoche continues his detailed explanation of this text, enabling each of us to deepen our understanding of Buddhist meditation.
